12 years ago, I’d consider myself as having “low self-confidence.”
Now, I’d consider myself as having healthy self-confidence.
Here’s my BEFORE and AFTER picture.
Does it look the same to you?
Because it’s got nothing to do with visible external change.
Going from low self-confidence to healthy, grounded self-confidence doesn’t look like this huge earth-shattering thing from the outside. But it completely changes your insides, which spills out onto your outsides.
Before...
❌ I had very low self-confidence.
❌ I didn’t think I was talented.
❌ I thought I wasn’t a good enough mom.
❌ I thought everyone else had it together.
❌ I defined myself by the state of my house.
❌ I compared myself ALL THE TIME to other moms and shluchos and always came up short.
❌ I gave way too much false meaning to simple everyday things (e.x. moldy apple in fridge = I’m a terrible homemaker).
❌ I lived with a lot of inner resentment and overwhelm.
❌ I thought I was “doing the right thing” by giving with no limits.
❌ I was chasing some kind of elusive target to “be the person I wanted to be”.
After...
✅ I can list all my talents, and none of them can be performed on a stage.
✅ I know who I am. I know my worth. I know what I give to the world.
✅ I love my motherhood and mom-life.
✅ I don’t indulge in thoughts of “not good enough.”
✅ I don’t compare.
✅ I don’t define myself by the state of my house, or by anything materialistic.
✅ I don’t fall into resentment, or stress, or overwhelm.
✅ I know what my needs are and unapologetically, guilt-free, meet those needs.
✅ I fill my own cup so that I have so much to give.
✅ I love exactly who I am, and always want to be evolving into the next best version of myself.
And...
I'm totally ok with failure.
And with feeling negative emotion.
None of the above happens all of the time, because that's not real life, and that's ok.
I know what to do with the unwanted thoughts and the unwanted emotions when they come up.
Honestly, the difference is astounding.
I feel like everything about my life changed, although nothing changed but me.
And with nothing changing but me,
here’s some other by-products in my life that came as a result of me having healthy grounded confidence:
👉 I actually don’t think that much about myself
👉 I buy myself nicer clothes and things I like
👉 I have more help
👉 I enjoy my #momlife WAY more
👉 I have better relationships with everyone in my life
👉 I set myself up for success
