Here's a thought that popped into my head today that sort of blew my own mind. 🎇 🎆🔥
If you want to take charge of your life, you first need to take charge of your mind.
How many times have you tried to "change the thing" that you think needed changing, but it wasn't working?
For example:
You sat down with your kids and told them your clear expectations of behaviors in the house … and yet they still “misbehaved.”
You sat down with your husband and told him “your needs” and what he needed to do to meet those “needs” … and yet you still felt like your needs “weren't getting met.”
You made a bunch of business goals and set out to do them … only to find out you weren't “getting there.”
You decided you were going to stop your own habit of falling into frustration or anger … and yet you kept falling into your habitual ways of reacting.
Think about this: The reason you are where you are today is because of a habit.
If you don't clean your house before you go to sleep, then it will be messy when you wake up in the morning (and I'm not saying that's a problem! Or that you need to clean! Just that the reason something is the way it is, is because of your habits).
If you're used to asking your husband to meet your needs, you probably don't feel like your needs are met, because you haven't learned how to meet your own needs. That's your habit.
Here's a fascinating question that I challenge you to dive into: What thoughts do you habitually have that are creating the result you have in your life ?
If you want to take charge of your life, you first need to take charge of your mind. It's a game-changer.
